Common Fashion Mistakes Men Make
It is unfortunate that some guys undermine their looks by unconsciously committing fashion mistakes common to most men. You see them all around you so you think it’s okay without realizing that you are hurting the sensibilities of those who are more savvy. Let me innumerate some of it here so that you can avoid it or if you’re already guilty of it , then stop doing it. Here are some common fashion mistakes men make:
Dress shoes with white socks
Wearing white socks with dress shoes may have been an eccentric fashion statement in the 90s but in the 21st century this is considered tacky and one of the worst common fashion mistake that men makes. Dress shoes should always be matched with wool or cotton dress socks in dark colors – blue, black, brown or gray. Reserve your white socks for your track suit and tennis shoes.
Incorrect way of buttoning a blazer or suit coat
You may have the most fashionable suit but if the buttons are not fastened right you might look like a trussed sausage. The suit coat will look ill fitting and pulled and stretched in the most gauche direction, so be careful how you fasten the buttons of your coat or jacket. A two-button suit should have only the top button fastened while with a three –button coat, you have the option of fastening the 1st and 2nd buttons from the top or just the middle button. If you’re wearing a double-breasted suit, fasten all the buttons. Regardless of the type of coat you’re wearing, make sure you unfasten the buttons when you sit down.
Extra-large clothes
Extra-large clothes or clothes that are too big for you will make you look like you are in borrowed togs and another common fashion mistake men make. Oversize clothes will not hide an large bulk nor will it hide a thin frame. Clothes look best when they are more fitted or the body-skimming type that will show your body to its best advantage.
